Welcome to the Wesley Foundation
at Louisiana Tech University
We are an Uncommon Community that LOVES as God loves, SERVES as God serves, and MOVES as God moves so the Kingdom of God is lived out wherever we go!
We strive to live out the message of Christ through living life together, devoted to the Word of God and prayer, worshiping together, and sharing in our needs and our joy. We believe that you need us, and we desperately need you to fully live out who we are called to be as The Body and church of God. If you have questions about the Wesley Foundation, we invite you to contact any of our staff, or visit us. We would love to have you as a part of our community.
Scott Wright, Director
Scott Wright has been the Director of the Wesley Foundation at Louisiana Tech for the past 18 years. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Marcie, and father to his children, Austin and Baylee. Scott also leads worship at Trinity UMC’s Refuge service. In his spare time, you can find him cuddling with his beloved golden retriever, Pudge, or counting down the days to the latest Apple product release. He never tucks in his t-shirts, but often is guilty of wearing a black belt with brown shoes. In the cool of early spring and fall, you’re likely to see Scott riding his motorcycle, with a tinted black helmet and jacket, easily mistaken as the Wesley Superman. Scott is passionate about sharing the Truth of Jesus with everyone, so that all have the opportunity to enter into a relationship with Christ and experience His transforming power, grace, and mercy – all for the glory of God. Scott received his undergrad from Texas Tech University, his M.Div. from Asbury where he also completed studies towards his doctorate.
Becky Clark, Associate Director
Becky Clark was hired as Associate Director of the Wesley after a bold phone call to Scott, where she simply stated, “I am going to be your Associate Director!” Becky, a Louisiana Tech alumni, was part of the Wesley Foundation during her college years, and also served as an Intern at Texas Tech’s Wesley after she graduated. She went on to get her Masters at Asbury Theological School before returning to her beloved Bulldogs and starting her family. Her vibrant and bold spirit is still as present today as when she made that phone call 8 years ago. She and her husband, Todd, and son Eli, are a joy to their community, small groups, our staff, and rich in the love of God. If you want an easy in to Becky’s favorite list, bring her any sort of dark chocolate, or a big warm “HEY BECKY” from across the way.
Kaiti Rees, Church Relations
Kaiti is serving for her third year here at the Wesley Foundation at LA Tech. She is a graduate of LSU (Geaux Tigers!), but loves serving the college students in this ministry. Kaiti serves as a Church Relations Coordinator, seeking to connect local church bodies and the community to the Wesley Foundation to share all God is doing in and through us. She is afraid of vampires and roaches, but loves sweet potatoes and frozen yogurt. Kaiti has a heart for serving through mission work, especially with children. She is passionate about leading others into the freedom offered in the forgiveness and love of Christ and believes this freedom is fully experienced in deep, intimate relationships with God and peers.
Marcie Wright, Office Manager
Marcie has been with us for many years. She actually runs the place. She has any and all the information anyone would ever need. On a given day, you might see Marcie in several of her roles, gardener, technician, postwoman, counselor, clown…etc. Much of her work, however is behind the scenes, managing the most strenuous aspects of the ministry and supporting her husband, Scott. If you are ever in need of a listening ear, followed by tears-from-laughing-so-hard laughter, give Marcie a visit in her hidden cubby-hole office. If you do, be ready for a mind-spinning crazy explosion of energy and passion, all rooted in her deep love for God and enthusiasm for life spent in communion with Him.
OUR MINISTRY INTERNS
Each year we are blessed to have recent-graduates choose to give up a year to stay and serve the Wesley community with their passion and gifts. The primary role of these interns are to invest in the lives of students and lead them in their relationships with Christ. We are blessed to have 5 eager Interns ready to lovingly serve us this year!
