ABOUT THE HONDURAS MISSION

After several years, the Wesley is returning to Honduras! Honduras is a poor country, with more than 66% of the population living in poverty. In rural areas 1 out of 5 Hondurans live in extreme poverty, living on less than $1.90 per day. This poverty, underemployment, and crime are just a few of the things that many Hondurans who flee their country are hoping to leave behind. Despite the difficulty that migration can bring, it is still seen as a better option than staying in a place that seems to have little to no opportunities to earn what is needed to support a family. Sadly, many immigrants that have made it to the United States have been met with even more hardships and have not been welcomed or allowed a chance at a better life. The Wesley Foundation’s mission in Honduras is to love, care for, and truly see those who live in a world of isolation and poverty. We want to bring hope to those who might have forgotten what hope feels like. Most importantly, we want to love our neighbors as Jesus did and has called us to do.
